PRESTON GUILD 1822
Lancaster Gazette 7th September 1822
Overlooking the Ribble and Miller Park, this former home of the Simpson's Gold Thread Works
family, became a hotel, and more recently it's been taken over by the Lancashire County
Council and used as offices.

Here's the replacement that most of us remember. I'm sure there must
be plenty of stories about the Theatre.
Preston Chronicle 31st May 1834
This came up in a search for the Bridge Inn, Penwortham.
The above advertisement appeared almost weekly from
29.12.1866 to 14.3.1868.
A poor image, taken c.1912, but McConnell's
Theatre Hotel can be seen far right. The McConnell
family had been there for around 25 years at that point.
The question mark was inserted by staff at the Harris Reference Library.
I think that early 18th century is an error. Should read 19th century.
