generally that he has taken and entered upon the above 
commodious and conveniently situated hotel, where he
respectfully solicits their patronage.
He will always endeavour, by having on hand, the best of
fare for his guests, to merit their favours.
The house is within two minutes walk of the railway station, 
and within the same distance of the Town Hall, so that it is
well situated for commercial gentlemen and others.
WINES and SPIRITS of the best quality, Home-brewed Ale,
as well as bitter and pale ale also from the most noted
houses; porter, &c.

TO BE LET, the ALBERT HOTEL, Fishergate - This desirable and centrally situated Family and Commercial Hotel will, in consequence of the retirement from business of the present proprietress, to let, with possession on the 1st May next. Situated in the main thoroughfare of the town, and within 150 yards of the North Railway Station, and also in close proximity to the Banks, Post Office, Theatre, and other important centres of business. This offers an opportunity seldom to be met with of entering at once into a lucrative and profitable business. By arrangement, possession may be had at once. Principals only will be treated with, and every facility will be given to parties desirous of inspecting the premises; and full and satisfactory reason given for the present tenant leaving, upon application, on the premises, or to Mr. Jabez B Jones, Estate Agent, Preston.

   "..........the Albert Hotel has been discontinued; one part of it is now occupied as the Custom House, and the other portion by Mr. Walmsley, Painter &c.

In the same article, an Ed Barber applied for a provisional licence for the premises, but he was a day late with his application, and so it wasn't granted. This was a NEW 'Albert Hotel' in a street to be called 'Bold Street'. In the event, when built, it was called Guildhall Street.
