JERRY-SHOP CONVICTIONS: Yesterday, Lawrence Hartley of the Henry Hunt jerry shop, was convicted of keeping open his house at forbidden hours, and fined 40 shillings.
 PRESTON PILOT   3rd November 1832

LAWRENCE HARTLEY, keeper of Hunt's Tavern, King Street, retail brewer,
was charged with having his house open after 10 o'clock, on the night of
the 20th October. He was convicted in the penalty of 40 shillings 
and costs.
