HELP & ASSISTANCE

I'll keep adding things to this page when I think of

 them!

Click on the link to find the public house you're

looking for:-

*
Towards the top left hand corner of the screen

you'll see a small white box with a magnifying

glass in it: There is another one in the right hand

margin.

Type in a name of a person, or of a pub,

CLICK ON THE MAGNIFYING GLASS

and it should produce information about

those names.

TIP: Particularly with surnames, try

various spellings, eg. Howarth and Haworth.

Nixon and Nickson, Thomson and Thompson, etc.

  2. I was looking through telephone directories 1924 on Ancestry for Herbert Jackson and found a Herbert & Mrs Jackson at the New Britannia public house in Preston.

He was an hotelier. His wife Mary Elizabeth Jackson had been the Manageress of The Queens Arms Hotel, Salford, before she married.

I note that you have no entries for The New Britannia between 1917 and 1925.

Is there a reason for this gap?

I am interested because they are ancestors of mine and am trying to trace their movements. They may have had intersts in more than one pub or hotel.

Unfortunately I do not know which one and was hoping to use your site to find this out. If anyone can help me pleas email me. Thank you
