PRESTON GUILD & OTHER PROCESSIONS

I am including reports of the processions held at various times in the town, principally those held at Whitsun each year, and the
Preston Guilds every 20 years. Inn and Taverns played a pivotal role in these processions, offering a base, or headquarters, for the various trades and other organisations.

  1. I am researching my family history and I know that one relative, Isabella Harrison worked or ran the Baker's Arms in the 1870s. Her sister, Susanna had or worked in a confectioner's shop at 156 Friargate from the 1860s to when she retired.
Their father, John,my grandmother's grandfather was also working in the pub with Isabella in 1861.
Do you have any further info about Susanna's shop?
