MINE HOSTS
1841 William Sharrock
1842 - 44 Mr. R. Duckett -Daughter, Ellen Hannah, aged 3, died 24.6.1844
1847 Henry Knight - My Gt. Gt Grandparents were Henry Knight, born at Brockholes in 1820 and Alice Knight (nee Hill) born in Marton also in 1820. Henry was the son of a Farmer, but was chiefly a jobbing gardener in Preston and Blackpool. They were married at St. Wilfred’s Chapel in Preston in 1844. They went back to Marton but came back to Preston sometime in 1847, for a daughter Emma was born in the April Qtr of 1847 when they were living in Mason Street and Henry’s occupation is recorded as Victualler. How long they stayed there, I don’t know, but their next child Alice Ann was born on the Fylde in the April Qtr 1850. They are on the Blackpool census in 1851 when he is a gardener once again. P.W.

Many thanks, Jinks aka Heather. Very useful info, and added to the site. From 1869 until 1871 William Adcroft was at the British Standard on Brackenbury Street, but he'd gone before the Census. I don't know if he had another pub later.
