ReplyDeleteI think I can clear up the confusion over the Seed family living at the pub in 1841. You are right in thinking that the two young children are Robert Seed's grandchildren. They are the children of Richard and Mary, both aged 30. Why Robert's daughter-in-law was listed before his son is a mystery. The second Mary listed, aged 15, is Robert's youngest daughter. Several members of this family are buried in St Wilfrid's Cemetery.
