This was a well-known tavern, but not so pretentious as that
built on the site of it, the 'Shelley Arms.'

1806         Believed to have existed.

1818 - 21           James Wilcock   d. 13.5.1832 aged 88 years

1877       Re-built - becoming the Liberal Reform Club?

DEATH:  On the 13th May 1832, Mr. John Wilcock,
formerly of the Shovel-and-Broom, Preston,
aged 88 years.
