Mr. Parker applied for the renewal of the licence of the Prince of Peace, Turner Street, owned by the Manchester Brewery Co., Limited, and tenanted by William Billington.
Inspector Clayton stated that the house was a small one, and that there were certain objections to the facilities for police supervision. Since 1900 there had been three transfers. The house was in good repair and fairly clean. Five barrels per week represented the average trade done.
In answer to Mr. Parker, Clayton said there were no objections to the house except on the ground of redundancy, and the fact that certain small structural alterations were desirable.
