IN A CASE AGAINST WILLIAM SERGEANT FOR SELLING BEER IN
PROHIBITED HOURS, THE HOUSE WAS GIVEN AS THE
"GREY HORSE," FISHWICK, BUT I THINK THAT IT SHOULD
HAVE BEEN THE "GREY HOUND."
*
SUBMISSION
WHEREAS I, WILLIAM SERGEANT, of Preston,

occasioned sundry false and scandalous reports
to the great injury of the character of the said Alice

his wife, having commenced an action at law against
me, they have consented to forego further proceedings,
on condition of my making a public Submission and
begging pardon of the said Mrs. Hibbert, and I do
hereby declare that all such reports injurious to the
character of the said Alice Hibbert are perfectly false.
