SUNDAY DRINKING
Robert Thornber, landlord of the Ribbleton Mill Tavern beerhouse, German Street, was summoned for contravening the Sunday Trading laws, and William Perry was summoned for aiding and abetting.
PCs McClarnan and Forrest watched the house on Sunday, the 9th inst., and between eight and ten they saw from one to five persons go in at once.
Shortly after ten, Perry went in, before whom they found some beer.
The landlord was fined 40 shillings, and Perry 5 shillings, both plus costs.
