WILLIAM SALTER was brought up on Wednesday last,
on a charge of stealing 30 shillngs from William Brogden,
on the preceding day. It appeared that Brogden and the
prisoner were drinking together in the VICTORIA TAVERN,
Walker Street, when the latter availed himself of the
opportunity of taking the above mentioned money, which
consisted of half-crowns.

P.C. Hesketh apprehended the prisoner on the same day,
and on searching him found nine half-crowns, and some other
moneys. Committed for trial.
