FOX and GRAPES, Ribbleton Lane (Replacement page)

FOX AND GRAPES, Ribbleton Lane   #

FOX AND GRAPES
   225  (later 178)  Ribbleton Lane
*
This wonderful image comes to us courtesy of Mike Jackson, the great-great grandson of the man in the photgraph, Richard Livesey. Although the description mentions c.1932, Richard had
moved up the lane to the Skeffington Arms by 1929.
Notice the 'Bowling Green' sign to the left of the property.
The bowling green itself was said to be quite special in its quality...................................
well it will have been. Apparently Richard collected the contents of the urinals to
use as a fertilizer on it!!
