JAMES KYMER, landlord of the New Lamb Inn, Park Road, was summoned for selling drink during prohibited hours, and Joseph Woodacre and Henry Davies were summoned for being on licensed premises during prohibited hours.
On Sunday 9th inst., at 45 minutes past nine, PC Robinson went to the door of the public house named, and found the door was only latched. He went inside, and found the defendants, each of whom had a pint pot containing beer before him. He told the landlord, who said it was given to them.
Mr. Edelston, who defended, stated that the men had gone there for the purpose of making an arrangement with the landlord to go to the Ribble works.
The landlord was fined 10 shillings and costs, and the other defendants 5 shillings and costs each.
