* This useful family information has been received from A.W., a family member:
My G-G-G Uncle (William Albert) ran this inn.  The reason it changed hands after 1881 was that William died in 1883.  Just to let you know that William Jnr (William Charles) was not Jane's son (see your entry for 1881 census).  He was, in fact, the illegitimate son of Jane's sister Elizabeth.  He went on to run the Longton Arms on Liverpool Road, Longton (1901 census). Thank you for sharing that.
