The Oddfellows' Arms, Park Road, owned by the Manchester Brewery Co., Ltd., tenanted by Mary Grace Atkinson, Inspector Clayton spoke of the house as being fairly clean throughout and in good repair. There were no convictions, but since 1900 there had been nine transfers. This house had more transfers than any other house in the town.
According to the landlord, the house did business to the extent of four barrels, six dozen pint bottles, and twelve dozen half-pint bottles of beer.
Mr. Blackhurst, for the landlord: 'The present tenant had certainly improved the house considerably, and that the fact that there had been so many transfers since 1900 was one of the weakest objections to the licence so far put forward at the Sessions."
