JENNY LIND, Patten Street

JENNY LIND
17 & 18 Patten Street
Whilst I have always thought that this named was derived
from the infamous Swedish 'nightingale' of that name, I have
recently discovered that there was some mill equipment that
was called the "Jenny Lind" warping mill.
*
This could be synonymous with "CHURCH TAVERN" and
possibly others, the names of which changed because
of the reputation they had acquired!
